ICAP Fee Structure 2026-27: What CA in Pakistan Actually Costs

The CA Hub Editorial   •   October 3, 2026   •   6 min read

Before you commit four or five years to chartered accountancy, you should know what the ICAP fee structure looks like in rupees, not in vague ranges. ICAP publishes one fee schedule, effective from July 1, 2026 (the Autumn 2026 session onwards), covering 2026-27. Below are the numbers that matter to a student, taken from that schedule, with worked examples of what a typical sitting costs. ICAP revises fees periodically, so treat this as accurate as of October 2026 and confirm on icap.org.pk before you pay anything.

One thing first: these are ICAP's fees only. Tuition at a coaching institute is separate and is usually the bigger bill.

Getting In: Registration and Annual Fees

  • Qualifying Assessment Test (QAT): Rs. 6,400 (only if your HSSC or A-Level aggregate is between 50% and 60%).
  • Registration as a full-time student: Rs. 22,000.
  • Registration as training on probation: Rs. 26,700.
  • Annual subscription: Rs. 6,500 a year. Unpaid subscriptions from earlier years must be cleared, except for years in which ICAP barred you from exams.

That annual subscription is the fee students forget. Over a five-year journey it adds up, so build it into your budget from day one.

PRC Exam Fees

PRC exam fees are flat: Rs. 7,500 for one paper and Rs. 7,500 for each additional paper. Sitting all three papers costs Rs. 22,500 in exam fees, whether you take them together or spread them across sessions.

Because there is no discount for bundling, there is no financial reason to rush all three PRC papers into one window. Take each paper when you are ready, but watch the 15-month time limit that starts with your first attempt (explained in our guide to ICAP passing marks and exam rules).

The English Communication Skills course has its own assessment fee: Rs. 16,500 at an ICAP lab, or Rs. 24,800 with remote proctoring.

CAF Exam Fees: Why Sitting More Papers Is Cheaper Per Paper

CAF fees are tiered: Rs. 7,000 for the first paper and Rs. 4,600 for each additional paper in the same sitting. Worked examples:

  • 1 paper: Rs. 7,000
  • 2 papers: Rs. 7,000 + 4,600 = Rs. 11,600
  • 3 papers: Rs. 16,200
  • 4 papers (the maximum per sitting): Rs. 20,800

If you clear all eight CAF papers in two sittings of four, your exam fees come to Rs. 41,600. Eight separate one-paper sittings would cost Rs. 56,000. That is a real saving, but do not let it drive your strategy. A failed paper costs you a re-sit fee plus six months, because CAF runs only twice a year. Sit the number of papers you can genuinely pass.

CFAP, MSA and the Strategic Case Study

  • CFAP: Rs. 14,400 for the first paper, Rs. 5,700 for each additional paper.
  • Multi Subject Assessment (MSA-1): Rs. 20,500 (relevant to students still on the transition route).
  • Strategic Case Study: Rs. 31,900.

Since you must attempt at least two CFAP papers per sitting unless only one remains, a typical minimum CFAP sitting costs Rs. 20,100.

Hands-On Courses and Integrated Modules

These are compulsory and often missed in cost estimates. Assessment fees in the schedule:

  • Presentation and Personal Effectiveness (PPE): Rs. 7,500
  • MS Office for Business: Rs. 7,700 per paper. The assessment has three separate papers (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), so budget for all three.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics: Rs. 7,500
  • Governance and Ethics: Rs. 7,500

You can self-study for these or take classes with an approved course provider. Provider fees are separate.

Exemption Fees

The schedule has a "Registration and Exemption" table listing per-paper amounts of Rs. 6,100 for PRC, Rs. 7,400 for CAF and Rs. 11,300 for CFAP, plus Rs. 7,500 per hands-on course and integrated module and Rs. 31,900 for the Strategic Case Study. If you are claiming exemptions on the basis of your degree or A-Levels, these are the lines to check. Professional qualifications have their own exemption fees:

  • ACCA qualified: Rs. 22,200 for three papers or Rs. 29,600 for four papers.
  • CIMA qualified: Rs. 37,000.
  • ICMAP qualified: Rs. 59,200.
  • PIPFA qualified: Rs. 7,400.
  • ICAEW, ICAI, ICAS, CAANZ or CPA Canada qualified: Rs. 200,500.

What each qualification actually exempts you from is covered in our exemptions policy guide. ICAP does not accept exemption applications on a result-awaiting basis.

After the Result: Review and Feedback Fees

  • Review of answer script or result: Rs. 2,400 per paper.
  • Examinee Assessment Scheme: Rs. 9,200 per CAF paper; Rs. 12,500 per CFAP, MSA or SCS paper.
  • Transcript: Rs. 1,000. Duplicate exam certificate: Rs. 6,400.

Where You Can Actually Save Money

ICAP's fees are fixed. What you control is how many times you pay them. Every re-sit means another exam fee, possibly another year of annual subscription, and often another round of tuition. The cheapest CA is the one you pass first time.

That is the reason this site is free. Use the practice hub and the subject question banks (for example CAF-1 MCQs and CAF-5 MCQs) to find your weak chapters before exam day, not after the result. If you want unlimited timed tests and progress tracking, Pro costs less than a single re-sit.
